My first paper was published near the end of my PhD-student period. Often I thought my work would never appear in an international scientific journal. But then it happened! Getting published for the first time felt amazing! Seeing your own name in a journal and in PubMed is a great reward for the hard work. Then, after a while,  you get cited by someone else for the first time. Again an amazing feeling! Quickly browsing that paper to see if they mention you specifically or that your publication is merely included in a group of papers so that the author’s point is strengthened. Today I feel very proud of my  list of publications which reflects the achievements of many people I was fortunate enough to work with.  Much stress, great fun!
